GDG ON CAMPUS · U OF T ST. GEORGE

Your degree teaches you how it works. We help you make it work.

Most of what you learn in lecture rarely turns into something you can actually show someone. We run workshops, build nights and hackathons to fix that. It's free, there's no application, and all you need to do is show up.

What we do

Here's what we're up to this year.

Hands-on workshops
WORKSHOPS
WORKSHOPS

Hands-on workshops

Step-by-step sessions on web, mobile, cloud, AI and whatever else is worth building with. Some are run by us, some by companies and engineers who visit. Bring a laptop, leave with something that runs.

Hackathons
HACKATHONS
HACKATHONS

Hackathons

LarpHacks on Nov 1, HackCanada in early January and a GenAI hackathon in March. Team up, build something over a weekend and demo it at the end. Never done one? Good, that's who these are for.

Socials and smaller sessions
SOCIALS

Socials and smaller sessions

Smaller workshops and socials in between the big events, so there's always something low-key to come to. Bring a project, or the assignment you're stuck on.

Career events
CAREERS

Career events

We kicked off the year with a Resume Roast. This winter it's Tech Industry Night and the Applications of Tech Conference: a chance to hear from, and talk to, people working in the field.

Upcoming events

Run by students

The people who bring GDG together: 30 U of T students across tech, events, marketing, outreach and finance.

Not sure yet? Pick whichever event sounds closest to something you'd do anyway. It's free, and there's no application.
